Occupation: I’m in sales at Down On Main Street, at 14 Church Hill Road.

Family: My husband, Ken, and I live in Monroe. We have a son, Xander, who is currently in North Carolina in the Army Reserves at Fort Bragg. Our daughter, Samm, will be a senior at Masuk High School in Monroe this fall.

Pets: We have four cats, Harmony, Cordelia — who is a dwarf cat — Alice, and Dinah. That’s enough!

How long have you worked in Newtown? I’ve been here just for the past year.

What do you like to do in your free time? I love to garden, flowers mainly, and I love to read a lot. I am a craft painter, too.

Do you have a favorite author? Probably Jane Austen. I like her strong women characters. Pride and Prejudice is my favorite. It was the first series of books I got my daughter to read when she became a teenager. I discovered Jane Austen when I was a teenager, and I loved her works. I started off reading Louisa May Alcott for period works.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? I love Mexico, Cozumel, especially, which is an island off of Cancun. For a long period of time, my husband and I would go there every year. It’s incredibly laid back, on island time. It can’t get any more lazy than that!

What is the best thing about Newtown? I love the look of Newtown, especially certain areas of Sandy Hook, and around the flagpole. I’ve always liked Colonial areas. I love the history.

If you could spend a day with anyone, who would you choose? There are so many choices, it’s hard to say, but right now, Hillary Clinton. I am just fascinated by a woman being successful in a traditional man’s world.

Do you have a personal philosophy? Never criticize a man until you’ve walked a mile in his moccasins.

What makes you laugh? I’m a sucker for slapstick humor. Will Farrell is probably the closest you can get to that today. I love Anchor Man!
