Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard Fundraising Horse Show

The Second Company Governor’s Horse Guard (2GHG) will host its annual fundraising Horse Show on July 25, beginning at 8 am, at the 2GHG facility at Fairfield Hills.

Participants must contact Show Secretary Naomi Gauruder at BHC Management at 203-650-3148, and entries may be downloaded at www.bhcmanagement.com or faxed to 203-882-8021.

The Connecticut Horse Shows Association (CHSA) and the Connecticut Hunter and Jumper Association, (CHJA) recognize the 2GHG Horse Show.

Proof of current Coggins and Rabies vaccinations is required and will be checked at arrival.

English, Western, Hunt, Pleasure, Lead line and Driving Classes are available. There will be a food service and a tag sale featuring tack equipment.

Spectators are welcome, and should not contact Gauruder; contact 2GHG directly for information, at publicaffairs@thehorseguard.org.

Riders from all over New England will perform in more than 70 classes in two show rings. At the end of the day, 2GHG will present the Governor’s Cup to the highest scoring Adult Amateur Hunter or Modified Adult Amateur Hunter; the Adjutant General’s Perpetual Trophy to the highest scoring Children’s Hunter, and the Town of Newtown Perpetual Trophy to the highest scoring Short Stirrup Rider.

A 100-percent volunteer, non-profit organization, 2GHG has been serving the citizenry of Connecticut since 1808. Horse Guard Troopers participate in ceremonial events at the order of either the Governor or the Adjutant General. 2GHG Non-Profit 501(c) 3 Association will also host an Open House on September 12 and a fundraising trail ride for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center on November 6. The Horse Guard appreciates and depends on the support of Horse Show participants and spectators.

For more information, contact Show Manager, 2LT. Jennifer Mazzara at 203-241-3461.

Information is also available at www.thehorseguard.org. The Troopers and mounts of the 2GHG remain, as always,  “Ready to Serve.”
