Recall Notice: C+R Homestyle Bakery Company Issues Recall Of Frozen Coffee Cakes Containing Undeclared Milk
HARTFORD — Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection Food and Standards Division (DCP) is warning the public that C+R Homestyle Bakery Company of Danbury is recalling its frozen Old-Fashioned Coffee Cakes due to undeclared milk. People who have allergies to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if consumed.
The recalled frozen coffee cakes were distributed to Dandy Foods, Danbury, and Jordan Paige Enterprise Inc, North Haven. Dandy Foods and Jordan Paige Enterprise further distribute products to restaurants and other retailers such as coffee shops, where the manufactured food products may be sold to consumers.
The affected flavors include: plain, chocolate, blueberry, raspberry, and apple.
The frozen Old-Fashioned Coffee Cakes are packaged in a 9.5-pound cardboard box. The recall was initiated upon discovering that the package did not declare the presence of milk in the sour cream or whey on the ingredient statement.
No illnesses have been reported to date.
