Ashleigh Pasko was selected for the Dean’s Third Honors for the spring 2010 semester at Pace University’s Lienhard School of Nursing, New York City.

Emily L. Proudfoot, a biology major at Marist College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., was named to the school’s Dean’s List for the spring 2010 semester.

Creative writing major Emily Oliver was named to the Dean’s List at Knox College, Galesburg, Ill., for the 2010 spring term.

Sandy Hook residents Brienne C. Bowen and Maricate Conlon were named on the Lafayette College, Easton, Penn., Dean’s List for the 2010 spring semester. To be named to the Dean’s List students at the college must earn a 3.6 semester grade point average out of a possible 4.0 scale. Also at Lafayette College, Maricate was honored during a All-College Honors Convocation on May 2, which presented awards and prizes to more than 100 students who attained outstanding academic success. Maricate was honored for receiving the James L. Dyson Geology Award in the Department of Geology and Environmental Geosciences. Brienne also graduated from the college during a commencement ceremony on May 22.

Catherine Stickles earned a bachelor of fine arts degree from The Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University, Cambridge, Mass., on May 19.

Emma MacHugh, daughter of Doug MacHugh and Susan Alward, earned a bachelor’s degree from Sarah Lawrence College, Yonkers, N.Y., on May 21. MacHugh is a 2006 graduate of Newton High School. While at Sarah Lawrence College, MacHugh studied abroad in Japan during the spring 2009 semester. MacHugh now plans to teach in Japan for a year as part of the JET programs.

Kelly A. Sullivan was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2010 Semester at Marist College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.

Kelly Murphy of Sandy Hook was named to the University at Albany’s (N.Y.) spring 2010 Dean’s List for outstanding academic achievement.

The following local residents and rising seniors at Connecticut College, New London, are completing college-funded internships this summer: Mary Gover, who is interning for the Yale Depression and Cognition Program in New Haven, and Kathleen Sharnick, who is interning for Treasury Partners in New York City.
