SCAN To Welcome Adele Moros

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) will host Adele Moros as its guest artist on Wednesday, July 28, for its next artist demonstration program.

Ms Moros will paint a landscape in watercolor. The program will take place in the lower level of Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street (at the flagpole), beginning at 1:30 pm. Admission is free.

Adele Moros is a multi-media artist with a background in advertising. Her work ranges from miniatures and murals to landscapes, florals and portraits. She has been teaching for twenty years. Her work is included in numerous private and public collections.

In 2000 she designed “Tiffany Cow” for Cow Parade NYC. The Metropolitan Museum has slides of the $60,000 bovine in its permanent collection and uses them in lectures on Tiffany. In 2002 she created “Jungle Gym,” an eight-foot giraffe for Stamford Safari.

Currently Ms Moros has a piece called “Princess Tiffany” among the 60 pieces on public display on the streets of downtown Stamford in a presentation called “Reigning Cats and Dogs.”

Ms Moros’s most recent achievement is winning first place in watercolor in the Roxbury Congregational Church Annual Exhibition.

Reservations are not needed to SCAN programs, but additional information is available from Ruth Newquist; call 203-426-6654.
