Studley Finishes NYC Triathlon To Benefit Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
The Studley family, of Newtown, could not have been prouder as Sarah Studley crossed the finish line in the New York City Triathlon in the scorching heat on July 15.
She completed a 1.5K swim in the Hudson River, a 40K bicycle ride from Manhattan to the Bronx and back, and a 10K run in Central Park.
Studley participated with her New York office of Yahoo! as part of the Team in Training contingent. She works in the finance department of Yahoo!
As part of Team in Training, Studley committed to raising more than $2,500 for the benefit of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Her commitment to the Leukemia Society was a logical fit since her niece, Emily Montoya of Newtown, is a Leukemia survivor.
More than 3,000 athletes participated in the event and it was the culmination of a grueling six-month training period for Studley.
