Longtime Area Resident
William M. Flood, 78, died July 20, in Pope John Paul II Care and Rehabilitation Center, Danbury, after a long illness. Mr Flood was a longtime resident of Monroe and Newtown. He was born in Bridgeport, April 12, 1932, a son of Margaret (Cavanaugh) and Frank Flood, Sr.
Prior to his retirement, Mr Flood was a self-employed realtor and real estate appraiser. He was a member of the Gaelic-American Club of Fairfield and was a communicant of St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown.
Survivors include four children and their spouses, Kimberly and Bob Lydon of Newtown, Karen and Michael Culkins of Harvard, Mass., William M. and Jennifer Flood, Jr, and Brian M. and Magali Flood, all of Southbury; a sister, Peggy Scinto of Shelton; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday July 23, at 7 pm, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 7 pm.
