Newtown Youth Football Camp
Newtownâs Youth Football Camp will be held July 28 through August 1 from 9 am to noon each day. Newtown High School Head Coach Steve George and his staff will run the camp at Hawley school. The camp is dedicated to teaching the players ages 7-13 the fundamental and basic techniques of football.
All equipment will be provided except for athletic supporters/cups and cleats. Players will receive camp T-Shirts and a pizza party on the last day.

Newtown Volleyball Camp
This parks and Recreation-sponsored camp, designed to introduce and expose athletes to the sport, is offered to girls in grades 6-8 July 28 through August 1. The camp will be held at the Reed School gymnasium from 6 to 8 pm each night. Attendees are asked to bring sneakers, water and knee pads (optional). Registration is limited to 40.

Babe Ruth Fall Ball
On-line registration for fall baseball is now open and can be done through the league Website www.NewtownBaseball.com. Divisions are being formed for all ages 5-15.
Players may register without a $20 late fee through July 31. No registrations will be accepted after August 15.
Newtown Soccer
Newtown Soccer Club registration is open for the fall 2008 and spring 2009 seasons. Visit www.newtownsoccerclub.org to register for U4-U14 divisions.
A $25 late fee will be applied to those who register after July 31. Registration will not be accepted after August 15. The soccer season begins the weekend of September 6-7.
Travel Basketball   Coaches Needed
Those interested in coaching travel basketball for boys or girls in grades 5-8 should contact Jim Parker at travelbas ketball@yahoo.com by August 1.
All applicants will need to fill out a coaching questionnaire and be interviewed for the position.
Candidates should have prior coaching experience and be able to coach in a competitive environment.
