Michael H. Cady

Crew Chief For Dauernheim Biglow Racing Team

Michael H. Cady, 56, of Newtown, died July 21 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Madeline Weckerle Cady. Mr Cady was born July 3, 1952, in Waterbury, a son of Robert S. and Julia L. (Binns) Cady.

He graduated from Watertown High School in 1970 and from Waterbury State Technical College in 1972, where he obtained his associate’s degree in engineering technology. He worked as a mechanical engineer for Sealed Air Corporation. He was a member of the Connecticut Street Rod Association and also served as its past president and current secretary. He was also the crew chief for the #608 Lakester racecar of the Dauernheim Biglow racing team and a member of the support crew of the E/STR #1986 owned by the Dripps Bibby racing team at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. He was a member of the Connecticut State Vehicle Safety Inspection Team for the National Street Rod Association.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his son, Michael H. Cady, Jr, of Pensacola, Fla.; three brothers, Ralph E. Cady of Silver Spring, Md., Richard H. Cady of Lansdale, Penn., and William S. Cady of Woodbury; a sister, Eleanor Cady Ingram of Brewster, Mass.; three nephews, a niece, and a grand-nephew. His first wife, Susan Beers Cady, and their son, Scott Andrew Cady, predeceased him.

A funeral service was held July 24 at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere. Burial will be private.
