A Visit Into A Musical World Of Dr Seuss

Seussical is a musical based on the books of Dr Seuss that debuted on Broadway in 2000. The play’s story is an amalgamation of many of Seuss’s most famous books. The overarching plot of the show mirrors Horton Hears a Who!, centering on Horton the elephant’s endeavors to protect the people of Whoville, who live on a tiny speck of dust.

The Cat in the Hat acts as narrator, outside observer and even devil’s advocate, sometimes leaping into the action to create conflict and keep the story moving.

Five performances, including two matinees, were presented last weekend at Edmond Town Hall by the students of Sabrina’s Encore Productions. The Newtown based performance school turned the stage of the town hall into a colorful setting right out of any of Dr Seuss’s books, offered brilliant performances, and sang with the confidence of Broadway performers.
