Police report they charged three people with vandalism offenses involving damage to residential mailboxes on the night of July 25.

Police said they received a complaint from a Cobblers Mill Road area resident concerning people traveling in a vehicle who were using a baseball bat to damage mailboxes.

After an investigation, police said they charged motorist Trina L. Ramsdell, 18, of 16 Pond Brook Road with criminal mischief, breach of peace, possession of marijuana, and driving under the influence. Police said they lodged the DUI charge under the strict “zero tolerance” provisions in effect for people under age 21.

Police said they charged vehicle passengers Mary E. Spaulding, 20, of Bethel, and Amel J. Samuels, 21, of 128 Hanover Road, each with criminal mischief and breach of peace.

Police said all three were released from custody on promises to appear August 18 in Danbury Superior Court.

Weapon Charge

After investigating a complaint, police said they charged Jonathan Lambo, 19, of 8 Country Squire Road on the afternoon of July 27 with carrying a dangerous weapon and with second degree breach of peace for allegedly firing a BB-gun through a screen door at a Winesap Road residence.

Police released Lambo on $500 bail for an August 10 court appearance.

Warrant

On the afternoon of July 27, police said they arrested Andrew Lambo, 18, of 8 Country Squire Road at his home on a warrant, charging him with failure to respond to an infraction and with failure to wear a seatbelt. Police said Lambo was charged with the seatbelt violation on May 14, but did not respond to the charge. Police released Lambo on $500 bail for an August 10 court appearance.

South Main Accident

Motorist Neil Payne, 41, of Madison, who was driving a 2003 Toyota pickup truck northward on South Main Street near Sand Hill Plaza about 1:30 pm July 26, stopped for a red traffic signal, after which he was struck from behind by motorist John Lardie, 42, of Monroe, who was driving a 2000 Saturn sedan, police said.

There were no injuries. Police issued Lardie a written warning for traveling too fast for conditions.

Flagpole Accident

Police report a two-car accident near the Main Street flagpole about 3:15 pm June 25.

Motorist Theresa Putnam, 52, of Danbury, who was driving a 2004 Jeep Liberty, was traveling southward on Main Street, as motorist Eleanor Gleason, 70, of Castle Hill Road, who was driving a 1989 Honda Civic, was traveling from Church Hill Road toward West Street, when the two vehicles collided in the intersection, police said.

There were no injuries. Police said they issued Putnam an infraction ticket for passing on the right.
