Dignity And Respect
Dignity And Respect
To the Editor:
My name is Joe Egan and I am one of the candidates seeking the Republican nomination on August 10 for the Northern Fairfield County Probate Court. Having served as a probate judge for 20 years, I ask for your support.
In addition to serving in my own district, I have heard cases in at least 15 other districts and have been the backup judge in Norwalk since 1996. I have served on the executive committees of both the state and national judicial organizations and was elected by my peers as the president of the National College of Probate Judges in 2007.
While operating the court efficiently, I have honored my pledge of treating all persons coming before the court with dignity and respect. This is how I have always treated anyone I have dealt with and this is how I will continue to act.
One of the real challenges involved in being a probate judge is having to communicate, one on one, with someone who is going through a very difficult time in his or her life. Experience is very helpful but is not the only asset of a good probate judge. The judge must be compassionate, understanding, and a good listener. These qualities are not taught in law school but come from within. I feel I have these qualities and ask for your continued support at the August 10 Republican primary.
Thank you
Joseph A. Egan Jr
