A Loving Mother, Grandmother, And Friend
Joan Postolowski, 81, of Heritage Village, Southbury, died July 25, at St Josephâs Manor, Trumbull, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in New Haven, August 4, 1928, the daughter of Rose (Calcatera) and Augustus Zavory.
She is survived by three children, including Lynda Healey, and her husband Jim, of Sandy Hook; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs Postolowski was predeceased by her husband of more than 50 years, Michael Postolowski, Sr, and by a son, Steven Postolowski.
She was employed for more than 20 years as an admitting officer for the former Park City Hospital. She loved writing poetry, caring for her beloved dachshund, Princess, listening to music, watching TV, and spending time with family and friends. Mrs Postolowski will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 28. Interment was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
