Pair Of Blood Drives Planned

Residents have two opportunities to donate blood to the American Red Cross in early August. Back-to-back blood drives have been planned for Friday and Saturday, August 6 and 7.

The Save-A-Life Bus will be at Charter Communications, 9 Commerce Road, on Friday from 9 am until 1:45 pm.

The second blood drive will be in the gathering hall of St Rose of Lima School, 40 Church Hill Road, from 8 am until 12:45 pm.

Those hoping to donate blood must be at least 18 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in generally good health.

According to the American Red Cross, currently only three out of every 100 people in America donate blood.

Every minute of every day, someone needs blood. That blood can only come from a volunteer donor, a person who makes the choice to donate.

Walk-ins will be welcomed, but appointments are available. Call 800-RED-CROSS (800-448-3543) to make an appointment or for additional information. Details about donating blood are also available at RedCross.org/donate.
