To the Editor:
I urge voters to elect Daniel OâGrady as the Republican candidate for judge of probate in the August 10 primary.
Judge OâGrady is the logical choice for the position. He has 20 years of experience in the Bethel Court of Probate. The new regional court (including Newtown, Bethel, Ridgefield, and Redding) will be located in the court that Judge OâGrady designed, the court in which he currently presides. To ease the transition to the regional court, Judge OâGrady has stated that he will concentrate 100 percent of his time on the court for the first six months or longer if necessary; someone else in his law practice will handle his cases until the court is running smoothly.
In addition, his law practice is located in proximity to the court; he has been and will continue to be available to the Probate Court at a momentâs notice. In addition, Judge OâGrady is eligible to run for re-election for several more terms, which means that he could bring continuity to the position. He has always shown compassion and understanding in his work, especially toward those who come to him in an emotional and trying time. He is always willing to help and is very active in the community, both in a legal capacity and in community relations.
This combination of experience and ability to relate to people makes him an ideal candidate for the position of judge of probate.
Sincerely,
Maryann C. Healey
