I respect a probate judge who primarily solicits door to door, rather than polluting the landscape with signs. I respect a probate judge who does not politicize community activities with trucks, sandwich boards, or other intrusive presence. I respect a probate judge who does not ask to be âreelectedâ to what is a new seat with no incumbent and, hence, no âreelectionâ possible. I respect a probate judge who provides voters with specifics, not banalities, in seeking a vote.
I respect Moira Rodgers as a probate judge. We elected her just last fall to Newtownâs court, and we should elect her to the new, consolidated court. She is recently trained, competent, caring, and brings energy and enthusiasm to the job in a way that sets her apart from the other candidates. She was the only Republican to commit unequivocally to not practicing law on the side, and instead devote full-time attention to a six-figure-salary job.
Now that the court has moved to Bethel, she has indicated she will hold hearings here in Newtown. As the judge from the busiest court in the district, she is best prepared to handle the consolidation. She can serve the people of the district for many years to come and I urge you to allow her to do just that by casting your vote for her on August 10 in the Republican primary.
