Who Pays The Price For 'Staff Development'
Who Pays The Price For
âStaff Developmentâ
To the Editor:
Is anyone else out there concerned about the schools letting out early one day per month for âstaff developmentâ?
Did the Board of Ed consider the cost to the parents for child care â not all households have a âstay-at-homeâ parent who can be available for early dismissal. In fact, in this economy, most families probably need to have two wage earners to get by. How can the board unilaterally decide to do this without parental input? Why canât the teachers attend their âstaff developmentâ after hours, like many other businesses do?
