Donald E. Valerio, 74, of Danbury, husband of Mary (Baluzy) Valerio, died on July 27, at Danbury Hospital, surrounded by his wife and friends. Mr Valerio was born in the Bronx, N.Y., on December 24, 1931, the son of John and Gertrude Valerio.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary; a daughter and son-in-law, Alison and Chris Cummings, and their children, Sienna and Melina of Newtown; a sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Maynard Marwede, of Sarasota, Fla; a nephew, Gregory Marwede; and a niece, Pamela Marwede of Florida.
Mr Valerio attended Bronx schools and resided in the Bronx until 1950 when he moved to the Danbury area. A retiree of Metro North, Mr Valerio was a station clerk and had been assigned to the Danbury station for many years.
Associated with the St George Antiochian Orthodox Church of Danbury, he was the corresponding secretary of the Menâs Society.
Funeral services took place on July 31 at Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, Danbury. Cremation followed in Charter Oak Crematorium, Oxford.
