CT State Police report Rishi Pardal, 44, of New Hyde Park, N.Y., was operating the Honda on I-84 West approximately one mile prior to Exit 11, when the vehicle struck a speed sign. It then traveled down an embankment and collided with a tree. Pardal was evaluated by Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps personnel. He did not need to be transported to the hospital. The vehicle was towed due to damage and CSP issued Pardal an infraction for Failure to Maintain Proper Lane. —Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue photo
