Rice Earns MD Degree

Kevin R. Rice, a 1997 graduate of Newtown High School, son of Kevin and Laura Rice of 8 Hundred Acres Road, graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Medicine with a doctorate of medicine degree.

At graduation he received The William Maxted, MD Award for outstanding academic performance in urology. At a separate ceremony he was commissioned a captain in the United States Army.

He will be doing his residency, specializing in urologic surgery, at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

He receive his undergraduate degree from Lafayette College, located in Easton, Penn., in 2001 with a bachelor of arts degree in biology. During his undergraduate years he spent two summers doing urology research under Dr David Albala, at Loyola University Medicate Center in Maywood, Ill.
