Land Use Officials Cited For Course Work

In ceremonies at a July 16 Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) meeting, First

Selectman Herbert Rosenthal presented town land use officials with

certificates of achievement recognizing their completion of a course on the

roles and responsibilities of people involved in municipal planning and

zoning.

Mr Rosenthal has presented the certificates to Zoning Board of Appeals

Chairman Charles Annett, III; P&Z Chairman Stephen Koch; P&Z members Daniel

Fogliano, Robert Taylor and Lilla Dean; Director of Community Development

Elizabeth Stocker; and Land Use Agency Director Rita Macmillan.

The Land Use Education Partnership, which is a consortium of professionals

representing many areas of land use, developed the training sessions.

The sessions were made possible through the Housatonic Valley Economic

Development Partnership, the Housatonic Valley Council of Elected Officials

and Western Connecticut State University.

The development partnership plans to provide training to land use officials in

the region on a continuing basis.
