Reilley's Summer Show Has The Essence Of New England
(with photos)
WOODBURY - Newtown artist Carol L. Reilley will be featured in a special art
show at Woodbury's Fine Line Gallery this summer.
During the month of August, a solo show of Mrs Reilley's works, called "Summer
Essence," will present oils and watercolors done by the artist. Mrs Reilley
feels the featured works are perfect depictions of what a New England summer -
particularly Connecticut - is all about. Scenes of local landscapes and
flowers capture the drama of nature releasing its summer beauty, after yet
another struggle through another Northeastern winter.
Highlights include scenes of marinas and harbors from Maine to Cape Cod, along
with oceanscapes that depict the colors and light often found in hot, lazy
summer afternoons.
Mrs Reilley, a member of the Society of Creative Arts of Newtown, works out of
a studio in her home.
Fine Line is a 20-artist cooperative gallery located on Main Street/Route 6 in
Woodbury.
To celebrate the opening of "Summer Essence," an artist's reception will be
held Sunday afternoon, August 3, at the gallery. Mrs Reilley will be in
attendance, and the public is invited to view the show, meet the artist and
enjoy a live jazz flute performance. The reception will run from 1 to 4 pm.
Fine Line Gallery is at 682 Main Street in Woodbury, second floor, at the
intersection of Routes 6 and 64. Gallery hours are Thursday through Sunday, 11
am to 5 pm. For additional information, call the gallery at 266-0110.
