Robert O. Marquis
Robert O. Marquis, 72, of Woodland Park, Shelton, husband of Leona Beaudry
Marquis, died December 26, in his home. He was the father of Susanne Kaufman
of Sandy Hook.
He was born in Lynn, Mass., August 22, 1926, son of the late Edward and Mary
Blanche Marquis and was a resident of Shelton for more than 31 years.
He retired from the former Avco Lycoming in 1990 after being employed there
for more than 27 years. He was also an Army veteran of World War II.
In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by another daughter,
Cynthia Komas of Oxford; a son, Lawrence Marquis of Wappingers Falls, N.Y.;
grandchildren, Amy and Matthew Komar, Renee, Louis and Lauren Marquis, and
Nathan, Danielle and Joshua Kaufman; two sisters, Edna Barrett of Bridgeport
and Yvonne Tice of Shelton; one brother, Edgar Marquis of Clearwater, Fla.;
and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held December 29.
Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, was in charge of
arrangements.

Stanley E. Golembeski
Stanley Edward Golembeski, 84, of One Grandview Lane, New Milford, brother of
Alyce Rowins of Newtown, died December 26, in New Milford Hospital. He was the
husband of Anna Docktor Golembeski.
A lifelong New Milford resident, he was born in New Milford, February 17,
1914, a son of the late Stanley and Gladys Tyburski Golembeski.
Mr Golembeski, or "Stash" as he was known by family and friends, attended New
Milford schools. He previously owned the Golembeski Poultry Farm in the
Lanesville section of New Milford, was a former employee of Kimberly-Clark for
23 years, and, after his retirement worked at the Lillis Funeral Home. He was
an outstanding gardener who received numerous awards at local fairs and shared
the fruits of his labor with many.
He was an active member of the New Milford Fire Department Water Witch Hose
Company No 2 and served in the Fire Police. He was a member of the Knights of
Columbus Housatonic Council No 40, a member of the former New Milford Civil
Defense, the Litchfield County Farm Bureau, and the Metichewan Grange. He was
a communicant at St Francis Xavier Church in New Milford.
Besides his wife of 60 years and his sister, he is survived by a son, Robert
S. Golembeski of New Milford; a daughter, Kathryn A. Golembeski of New Milford
with whom he and his wife made their home; two grandchildren, David R.
Golembeski and Leanne K. Golembeski of New Milford; another sister, Irene
Chause of Stratford; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His friend and
companion Mandy will miss him.
Funeral services were held from the Lillis Funeral Home December 30 to St
Francis Xavier Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was in St
Francis Cemetery, New Milford.

Patricia B. Jimatis
Patricia Bruch Jimatis, 63, of 12 Evergreen Road, Sandy Hook, mother of Donna
Gorton of Sandy Hook, died December 25 at Danbury Hospital after a long
illness. She was the wife of the late Donald J. Jimatis.
Mrs Jimatis was born in New Haven on May 31, 1935, a daughter of the late Fred
Blizzard and Marion Kelley Bruch, Sr. She had lived in Sandy Hook for the past
32 years. Prior to living in Sandy Hook, she had resided in New Haven and West
Haven for a total of 31 years.
Mrs Jimatis had owned and operated Jaye's Collies and Bichon Frise Kennel of
Sandy Hook for the past 32 years. She was an AKC-licensed judge and past
president of the Collie Club of Connecticut.
She was an avid antiques collector, especially of teddy bears and carnival
glass.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by a brother, Fred Bruch, Jr, of
West Haven; and a grandson, Donald John Parker Gorton of Sandy Hook. She was
predeceased by a sister, Betty Kane Haines, and a grandson, Donald Grant
Gorton.
Funeral services were held December 29 at the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral
Home, 1022 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden. Burial was in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New
Haven.

Josephine Condon
Josephine Moran Condon, 79, of Stratford, mother of Kevin Condon of Newtown,
died December 24, in Bridgeport Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph
L. Condon.
Mrs Condon was born in Bridgeport, February 25, 1919, daughter of the late
Michael and Kattie Malone Moran, and had been a Stratford resident for more
than 35 years.
She was a communicant of St James Church, Stratford.
In addition to her son, she is survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St James Church, Stratford, December
28. Interment was in St Michael's Cemetery, Stratford.

Philomena Mazzulla
Philomena (Del Corono) Mazzulla, 93, formerly of Simeon Road, Bethel, mother
of William R. Mazzulla, Jr, of Newtown, died December 23 at Mediplex of
Southbury.
Mrs Mazzulla was born in New York City, April 30, 1905, a daughter of the late
Anthony and Rose Mazzulla.
She was predeceased by her husband, William R. Mazzulla, Sr.
In addition to her son, she is survived by five grandchildren, William III of
Maine, Thomas of Naugatuck, James of Georgia, Mark of Newtown, and Terry of
Watertown.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Mary Church, Bethel, December
28. Burial followed in St Mary Cemetery.

Frances K. Ryan
Frances Kisco Ryan, 90, of Bridgeport, died December 28, at 3030 Park,
Fairfield Center. She was the mother of Joseph F. Ryan, III, of Sandy Hook and
wife of the late Joseph Francis Ryan.
She graduated from New York University and attained her master's degree and
sixth year certificate from Fairfield University. She also received a Gold Key
in journalism from Columbia University, attaining Phi Beta Kappa, and was
nominated for Who's Who in American Women.
A teacher at Central High School for 42 years, she was the adviser for the
school's newspaper, The Criterion, for 30 years. The publication won many
awards.
She wrote a collection of 200 poems on peace and love, a 75-year history of
Central High School and centennial history of St Patrick's Church. She also
served as vice president of the Council of Catholic Women and Queen's
Daughters.
In addition to her son, she is survived by her daughter, Frances Marilyn
Esterbrook of Bridgeport; her daughter-in-law, Dianne, of Sandy Hook; three
granddaughters, Erin, Kelly and Caitlin Ryan; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on December 31 at 9:15 am in the Redgate-Hennessy
Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull, and at 10 am in St
Patrick's Church, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St
Michael's Cemetery, Stratford.
Calling hours were scheduled for December 30 from 4 to 8 pm.
Contributions in her memory may be made to either the Catholic Charities or
the Salvation Army.

Erwin S. Pitcher
Erwin S. Pitcher, 91, of Punta Gorda, Fla., formerly of Stratford and Newtown,
died December 28, in Port Charlotte, Fla. He was the husband of the late
Florence E. (Alling) Pitcher.
Mr Pitcher was born February 24, 1907, in Stratford, son of Sidney E. and Anna
Pitcher. He retired as an auto mechanic from Haynes & McGill Chrysler Plymouth
in Bridgeport after working there for 35 years. During World War II he served
as an air raid warden in Milford. He was a director of Civil Defense in
Newtown, a member of the Danbury Civil Defense Police, and was past chief of
the Sandy Hook Fire Police. He moved to Florida in 1989.
He leaves one son, Sidney C. Pitcher, of Southbury; one step-daughter,
Elizabeth V. Monk of Avon Park, Fla.; five grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren.
Private grave side services will take place at Union Cemetery in Stratford.
Local arrangements are by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury.

Catherine A. Perrell
Catherine A. Perrell, 75, wife of the late Carmine L. Perrell, formerly of
Flushing, N.Y., died December 29 in Ashlar of Newtown.
She was born in Middle Village, N.Y., September 26, 1923, daughter of the late
William and Katherine Dehn. A longtime resident of Flushing, N.Y., she moved
two years ago to make her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and
Eugene Walsh of Sandy Hook. She was a member of St Kevin's Church in Flushing,
N.Y.
In addition to her daugher, she is survived by three sons, John Perrell of
Berwyn, Ill., Philip Perrell of Middle Village, N.Y., and Daniel Ferguson of
Houston, Tex.; one brother, Lester Dehn of Queens, N.Y.; eight grandchildren;
and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at St Kevin's Church, Flushing, N.Y., December
31, at 10:45 am. Interment will be in St John's Cemetery, Middle Village, N.Y.
Calling hours were scheduled at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street,
Newtown, December 30 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm.
