ACC Reports Chicago Sales

HIGHLAND, N.Y. -- The American Craft Council has released sales and attendance

figures from the first annual ACC Craft Market Chicago held on July 24-28 at

the newly renovated Lakeside Center at McCormick Place.

Total projected sales for the event were nearly $4,250,000, with average sales

for each of the 404 exhibitors exceeding $10,000. ACC Craft Market Chicago was

a part of Chicago Market Week, which also included the Chicago Gift Show,

Beckman's Handcrafted Gift Show and the Chicago Gifts and Accessories Show at

the Merchandise Mart.

More than 26,000 buyers registered for Chicago Market Week, with 2,525 buyers

specifically registered for the ACC Craft Market Chicago. Since the ACC event

was in the same hall as the Chicago Gift Show it is difficult to provide

precise attendance figures, but it is estimated that between 15,000 and 20,000

buyers shopped at least part of the ACC Market.
