Nancy Carellini

Nancy Curiale Carellini, 90, a retired dressmaker, died July 15, at her home

in Newtown. She was the widow of Frank Carellini, Sr.

Born in Messina, Sicily, Italy, Mrs Carellini was a Bridgeport resident before

moving to Newtown 48 years ago. She was a life member of the International

Ladies Garment Workers Union, and a member of the St Rose Church Ladies Guild

and Newtown Seniors.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Donna Gallo of Stratford, Denise Senko

of Monroe, and Frank Carellini, III, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; six

great-grandchildren, Jeffery, Mark, and Brian Gallo, Jesse and Sara Senko, and

Frank Carellini, IV; two great-great-grandchildren, Sarah and David Gallo; and

several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her children Stella

Pellegrino and Frank P. Carellini.

Services took place July 18 from the Louis A. Abriola & Son Funeral Home,

Bridgeport, to a Mass of Christian Burial at St James Church, Stratford.

Interment was in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull.

Don Mackenzie

A memorial service will be held for Don Mackenzie, 82, father of Kenneth

Mackenzie, III, of Newtown, on August 5, at 10 am in the Christ Church at

Route 58 and Cross Highway, Redding Ridge.

Mr Mackenzie, husband of Eleanor C. Mackenzie of Santa Rosa, Calif., was a

former employee of the Barden Corporation in Danbury.

Born in Bayonne, N.J., Mr Mackenzie was a mechanical engineer and bearing

expert. He was active in Christ Church, Episcopal, of Redding, and the Redding

Players, prior to moving to California in 1981.

Besides his wife and son, he is survived by two other sons, Alan Mackenzie of

Westport, and David Mackenzie of Cape May, N.J.; a brother, Neil Mackenzie of

Bound Brook, N.J.; a sister, Jean Scully of Westport; and seven grandchildren.

Elizabeth Gibson

Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Gibson, 72, sister of Theresa Kopp of Newtown, died

July 12, in St Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. She was the wife of

Joseph B. Gibson.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., she was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport.

Mrs Gibson was a former officer of St Ann's Altar Society, a member of Black

Rock Community Council, and Black Rock Preservation Group.

She is also survived by two sons, Michael J. Gibson of Meriden, and Joseph B.

Gibson of Bridgeport; a daughter, Susan M. Flaucher of Milford; another

sister, Wilma Kerekes of Bridgeport; and five grandchildren, Michael and

Dennis Gibson, Daniel, Erik and Michele Flaucher. She was predeceased by a

sister, Dorothy Orloski.

Services were July 17, from the Fairfield Funeral Home of Edmund W. Dougiello,

to a Mass of Christian Burial at St Ann's Church, Bridgeport. Interment was in

Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.

Contributions in Mrs Gibson's memory may be made to Newington Children's

Hospital, Cedar Street, Newington, CT 06111.

Benjamin Stanton

Benjamin Larkin Stanton, 3 year-old beloved son of Scot and Sheryl Schwarz

Stanton of Somers, died July 14, at Johnson Memorial Hospital. He was the

grandson of S. Thomas and Ann Stanton of Sandy Hook.

He was born December 12, 1991 in Hartford.

He is also survived by a sister, Amanda K. Stanton; his maternal grandmother,

Dorothy Schwarz of Somers; maternal great-grandparents, Edward and Louise

Washburn of Marion, Mass.; paternal great-grandmothers, Carolyn Schwarz and

Carolyn Rose of Stafford.

A memorial service was held July 17 at the Somers Funeral Home.
