Riverside Residents Unsettled By Nighttime Break-Ins

Police report two incidents in which two unlocked homes near each other in the

Riverside section along Lake Zoar were entered early Saturday morning.

The police department's special investigations unit is looking into a report

made to police at 2:48 am Saturday from a couple on Underhill Road who told

them they heard noises in their residence. When the couple checked it out,

they found that their infant had been moved from one place to another within

the house.

Later that day, police received a complaint from another Underhill Road

resident who told them he had seen an unidentified male in his house about

1:30 am.

When the man was confronted by the resident, he left the building, according

to police.

Nothing was reported missing from either residence, police said.

Police remind residents that they should keep their homes secured even during

hot summer weather.

Anyone with information about these two walk-in incidents is asked to contact

the special investigations unit or the police tip line at 270-8888.
