Property Owner Works To Rectify Violation

A Huntingtown Road man is working to rectify a violation of the zoning

regulations concerning the storage of recyclable items at his property,

according to Zoning Enforcement Officer William Nicholson.

Mr Nicholson said Samuel Nezvesky of 136 Huntingtown Road has begun work to

remove items which have been stored at his property as part of a recycling

center run as a business in a residential area in violation of the zoning

code.

On July 19, the Legislative Council approved a July 12 recommendation from the

selectmen that the town pursue a lawsuit against Mr Nezvesky concerning the

zoning rule violation. The town has been seeking to have Mr Nezvesky comply

with the zoning rules since March 1994.

"He (Nezvesky) certainly has made an attempt to clean it up...I'm really happy

about that," Mr Nicholson said July 27.

Mr Nicholson added "I think he's made a good attempt to clean up the area.

I'll be checking on it often. The man has taken it upon himself to correct a

problem and we appreaciate that."

Some recyclable items remain on the property but it appears that Mr Nezvesky

plans to remove them, Mr Nicholson said.
