OBITS (Lescrynski; Svensson; Hink; Kramer; Stanford)

Gloria Lescrynski

Gloria C. (Abraham) Lescrynski, 69, wife of the late Chief Petty Officer

Alexander Lescrynski of Sandy Hook, died June 29 in Danbury Hospital after a

brief illness.

Mrs Lescrynski was born in Johnstown, Pa., the daughter of the late Lemuel and

Footon (Slyman) Abraham.

She was a resident of Sandy Hook for 29 years, and formerly resided with her

husband on various naval bases.

She is survived by a son, Alexander Lescrynski III, of Sandy Hook; two

daughters, Torry Galante of Middlebury and Nancy Lescrynski of New Milford;

two brothers, Samuel Abraham of Portsmouth, Va., and Raymond Abraham of

Peoria, Ariz.; two sisters, Betty Jane Mulkey and Mary Jane Agypt, both of

Johnstown, Pa.; and several nieces & nephews.

Contributions in her memory may be made to Regional Hospice of Western

Connecticut, 30 West Street, Danbury, CT 06810.

Services will be private and will take place at the convenience of the family.

Jean Svensson

Jean Carlsson Svensson, 76, mother of Karl R. Svensson of Newtown, died June

26 in Milford Hospital.

Mrs Svensson was the wife of Sven C. Svensson of Huntington, Shelton. She was

born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and had been a Shelton resident for 23 years.

She was a graduate of Bay Ridge High School, Brooklyn and had attended

Augsburg College, Minnesota and the University of Bridgeport. Mrs Svensson was

a member and past officer of the Order of the Eastern Star. While a resident

of Branford, Easton, Monroe and Shelton, she was involved in scouting, parent

teacher associations and numerous school, church and civic committees and

organizations. She was a member and past president of the Shelton Republican

Women's Club, and while a Monroe resident, her affiliation with the Republican

Party included several committees and commissions. She received the Woman of

the Year Award from the Town of Monroe in 1971. She was a former Monroe Tax

Collector and substitute postal worker for the town; she was also a reporter

for the Monroe Courier and a bookkeeper for the Shelton Tax Office.

Besides her son and husband, she is survived by a daughter, Ingrid Ellen Crook

of Suwanee, Ga., and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Jon

Erik Svensson.

Private funeral services and interment will take place at the convenience of

the family.

Drive, Branford, Conn., 06405.

The Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull was

in charge of arrangements.

William J. Hink

William J. Hink, 76, died June 25, at his home, 43 Moccasin Trail, Sandy Hook.

He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., September 17, 1921, a son of John and Caroline

(Klink) Hink.

A resident of Sandy Hook for 45 years, he was a retired electrician at

Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford. He was also a volunteer custodian at St Rose

Church for the past seven years. During World War II he served in the US Army.

Mr Hink is survived by a brother, Andrew Hink, of Warwick, N.Y.; a sister,

Jenny Borkowski, of Pearl River, N.Y., and by several nieces and nephews.

Services were held on June 30, in Florida, N.Y. with a Mass of Christian

Burial at St Joseph's Church followed by interment in St Joseph's Cemetery,

Florida, N.Y.

Sally D. Kramer

Sally D. Kramer, of Kennett Square, Pa., formerly of Sandy Hook, died on June

20 in Christiana Hospital, Delaware.

She was the wife of Edward A. Kramer.

Mrs Kramer was a homemaker and while in Sandy Hook worked for the law firm of

Murray & Driscoll, Southbury; she also worked in real estate.

She was a member of the Newtown Business & Professional Woman's Club and

Christ The King Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir.

Besides her husband of 33 years, she is survived by her mother, Hildegarde

Moolin of Williamsburg, Va., her sister, Joyce L. Rumpf, of Williamsburg, two

nieces and a nephew.

Services were held on June 24 from the Kuzo & Gofus Funeral Home in Kennett

Square and burial was in the Longwood Gardens Cemetery.

Margaret Stanford

Margaret Lang Stanford, 95, of Newtown died June 29 at Danbury Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Harold B. Stanford.

Mrs Stanford was born in New York City, December 11, 1902, the daughter of the

late Joseph & Catherine (Fleckenstein) Lang.

She had been a Newtown resident for more than 40 years and was a member of St

Rose Church.

Mrs Stanford is survived by four nieces, two nephews, and several great nieces

and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Rose Church, Newtown on July

2. Burial followed in Newtown Village Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the School Sisters of Notre Dame, 345 Belden Hill

Rd, Wilton, Conn., 06896.

The Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
