OBITS (Deimel; Murphy; Campbell; Guman; Ingham; Nudenburg)

Mary Lou Deimel

Mary Lou Deimel, age 73, of Sandy Hook, died July 27 at her home on Housatonic

Drive.

She was the wife of Howard Deimel of Sandy Hook and Clearwater, Fla. Mrs

Deimel was born in Jamaica, N.Y., May 24, 1925. A resident of Sandy Hook for

24 years she had divided her residence between Florida and Connecticut.

Besides her husband, Mrs Deimel is survived by three sons, Thomas Deimel of

Boston, Mass., William Deimel of Cheshire, and Christopher Deimel of

Killingworth; two daughters, Janice Hauck of Southbury, and Robin Hutchins of

Houston, Tex.; a brother, Kenneth Daley of Texas; three sisters, Roseanne

Christie of E. Patchogue, L.I., Joyce DePalma of Texas and Sharon Brough of

Spring Hill, Fla.; nine grandchildren and a great-grandson.

Funeral services were held July 29 at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street,

Newtown, and St Rose Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was in

St Rose Cemetery.

Terry Kay Murphy

Terry Kay Murphy, 43, sister of Martha LaMarche of Newtown, died unexpectedly,

July 18 at her home in Indianapolis, Ind.

She was formerly employed as a draftsperson for Nuclear Measurements,

Indianapolis, Ind.

Besides her sister, she is survived by her mother, Lucy A. (Meece) Murphy; a

son, Dustin A. Murphy; another sister, Sharon R. Hilderbrand; a brother, Mark

W. Murphy; and a granddaughter.

Services were held July 29 at Little & Sons Beech Grove Chapel, Indianapolis

followed by burial in Orchard Hill Cemetery.

Jean Campbell

Jean Frances Grant Barresi Campbell, 73, mother of Robert Barresi of Sandy

Hook, died July 26 at Maefair Health Care Center.

Mrs Campbell was the widow of Eugene Campbell. She was born in Bridgeport on

December 3, 1924, the daughter of the late John and Bridie Lynch Grant.

She was educated in Bridgeport and graduated from the Bridgeport School of

Business. Jean worked as a secretary at Chance-Vought Sikorsky during World

War II where she met her first husband, Phillip Barresi. She lived in Trumbull

for 19 years and was an active member of the Trumbull Center Fire Dept, Ladies

Auxiliary; she was also a Gray Lady and volunteered for the American Heart

Association. After Phillip's death, she moved to Stratford and in 1983 married

Eugene Campbell. In 1989 she retired from Sears after working for 20 years in

catalog sales.

Besides her son, Mrs Campbell is survived by a brother, Edward Grant of

Middletown; five grandchildren, Michael Barresi of Florida, Peter and Jacki

Barresi of Sandy Hook and Elyse and Erik Loescher of Redding and several

nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 29 at St Charles Church.

Entombment was in St Michael's Mausoleum.

Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

The Commerce Hill Funeral Home, Bridgeport was in charge of arrangements.

Helen D. Guman

Helen D. Guman, 92, of Sandy Hook, died July 26 in St Vincent's Medical

Center.

Mrs Guman is the widow of John D. Guman, Sr.

She is survived by three sons, John D. Guman and his wife, Dorothy, of

Bridgeport, Robert E. Guman and his wife, Marie, of Fairfield, Richard A.

Guman and his wife, Betty, of Brookfield; one sister, Elizabeth G. Gabany, of

Hartford; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Rita A. Bouchard.

Funeral services were held July 28 at St Rose Church, Newtown with a Mass of

Christian Burial. Interment will be private.

The Adzima Funeral Home, 50 Paradise Green Place, Stratford was in charge of

arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, kindly make contributions of prayer in repose of Mrs

Guman's soul to St Rose's Church.

Clifford S. Ingham

Clifford S. Ingham, 77, of 55 Sugar Lane, Newtown, died July 28 at his home.

He was the husband of the late Ruth (Pleasants) Ingham. He was born in

Bridgeport on November 6, 1920, the son of the late Clifford and Elizabeth

(Hodgins) Ingham. He had been a resident of Newtown for the past 33 years.

He was raised in Bridgeport and was a graduate of Bassick High School. For

many years he was employed as a tool maker at Avco-Lycoming Co in Stratford. A

World War II Army veteran, he served as a high speed radio operator and

participated in the Normandy Invasion, Northern France, Rhineland & Ardennes

battles.

Mr Ingham is survived by one son, Clifford R. Ingham, and one granddaughter,

Olivia Ingham, both of Newtown.

Private funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. There are

no calling hours. Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, is in charge of

arrangements.

Edith A. Nudenberg

Edith A. Nudenberg, 82, of 18 Taunton Lake Road, Newtown, died July 27 at her

home.

She was the wife of Walter Nudenberg. She was born in Madison Wis. February 4,

1916, a daughter of Eugene and Beulah (Howell) Winans.

A resident of Newtown for 25 years, she was a longtime instructor in arts and

crafts. She was also a former arts and crafts instructor at Newtown Senior

Center. She was a member of the Newtown Women's Club and the Newtown Garden

Club.

Mrs Nudenberg was a former merchandising director at Hudson Store, Detroit,

Mich., Mandel Store in Chicago, Ill. and Bloomingdale's in Short Hills, N.J.

Besides her husband, Walter, she is survived by two sons, Richard of

Jamestown, R.I., and Elon of Seattle, Wash.; and one granddaughter, Courtney

Nudenberg. She was predeceased by a son, David Nudenberg, a US Army Ranger

killed in action in Vietnam.

Friends may call on Thursday, July 30, from 7 to 9 pm at the Honan Funeral

Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. Cremation will be at Mt Grove Crematory,

Bridgeport.
