Program For People With Diabetes

BRIDGEPORT — “Lifeskills,” an educational program for people with diabetes, is being offered by St Vincent’s Medical Center in four-class sessions this fall.

The evening session will run from 6:30 to 8:30 pm beginning September 5 at the Medical Center, and the afternoon session will run from 1 to 3 pm beginning October 12 at a site to be announced.

Lifeskills helps people with diabetes become self-sufficient in the daily management of their disease. The course presents information and teaches skills to improve quality of life and help people with diabetes avoid many of the complications commonly associated with the disease.

The instructors for the program are diabetes educator Sally O’Tolle, a registered nurse and nutrition educator, and registered dietitian Jane Hackett.

The fee of $30 includes a personal workbook. Financial assistance is available.

The register and for more information, contact St Vincent’s health and Lifestyle Center at 203/576-5500.
