Danbury Opera Ready For A New Season

DANBURY — Danbury Opera will open its fall season with a gala concert, “A Night At The Opera,” beginning at 8 pm on Saturday, September 9, at Danbury Music Centre. The concert, partially supported by the Danbury Cultural Commission, is being offered without charge.

The festive program, under the artistic direction of Joan Brainerd Noland, will include a dozen operatic singers, including several appearing for the first time in Danbury, who will join veteran members of the company in arias and ensembles, including major excerpts form Verdi’s Aida and Il Trovatore. Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana, and other selections.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to hear about the exciting plans for the remaining programs for Danbury Opera’s fall and spring season.
