Ready For School

To the Editor:

After a short summer vacation, the Newtown Visiting Nurse Thrift Shop is all jazzed up and ready to start offering the “best of back to school clothes” at prices that are guaranteed to jumpstart the economy. As always, our prices will still be the lowest in Connecticut and this fall our selections of up-scale women’s clothing are better than ever.

The Newtown Visiting Nurse Thrift Shop has been in business almost as long as the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) — more than 90 years — and has been providing local residents with reasonably priced children’s, men’s, and women’s clothing and home goods. The thrift shop is the funding workhorse of the VNA and provides the funds for all the free health clinics offered, as well as being the reservoir for providing the funds for the VNA motto — “No one is ever denied essential services because of inability to pay.”

Thrift shop hours will continue to be Wednesday, from noon until 3 pm, and Saturday, from 9 am to noon. The shop is located in the lower left corner of the Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street.

As a result of requests, donations are still be accepted for the shop — please call 203-426-1035 for additional times and information.

Don’t miss the September 4 fall reopening.

Appreciatively yours,

Anna Wiedemann, President
