Armand J. Luzi, Sr
Armand J Luzi, Sr, of Terryville Road, Bristol, husband of Anne (DeFederico) Luzi, died August 25 at Bradley Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Gingras, and her husband, Dick, of Newtown.
Mr Luzi was born in Pittsfield, Mass., on August 13, 1914, and was a son of the late Joseph and Palma (Lampezzi) Luzi. A lifelong Bristol resident, he managed Vetroâs Package Store in the old downtown Bristol for many years and was also employed at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft for 19 years before retiring in 1979.
A World War II veteran serving in the US Army, he was a member of the American Legion Billy Peterson Post 165 of Wolcott and was a member of St Anthony Church, Bristol.
In addition to his beloved wife, caregiver, and friend of 53 years, and daughter Anne, Mr Luzi was also a devoted father to a son, Armand J. Luzi, Jr, and his wife, Donna of Southbury. He also leaves a brother and sister-in-law, John and Jeannette Luzi of Bristol; three grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Carmela Luzi, and Carolyn and Richie Gingras; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Luzi, and two sisters, Mary Luzi and Rose Bove.
Funeral services were held August 28 from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Avenue, Bristol, to St Anthony Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with military honors in St Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
