Interclub Update

The travel team at Rock Ridge took home the championship in the Future Stars Interclub League. The league, which includes High Field Golf Club, Watertown Country Club, Waterbury Country Club, Candlewood Lake Club, and Heritage Village Country Club, brought all the clubs together to compete in seven matches, accumulating points during the summer. While Watertown shot out to an early lead, the team from Rock Ridge finished strongly and managed to hold the lead going into the final match at home and pulled out a win with 86 points. Watertown was runnerup with 79. The charge to victory was led by Thomas Gavel who finished with two first-place finishes, and two second-place finishes during the last four matches. The strong play led Gavel to first place in his division and he earned the MVP Award. He earned 22 of the team’s 86 points. Other notable players included Jonathan Spicci and Scott Caggainello, each of whom finished second in points within their division.
