FCC Depression Workshop On Sept 7
FCC Depression Workshop On Sept 7
The Family Counseling Center, a nonprofit mental health agency serving Northern Fairfield County, is offering a free public workshop on depression on Thursday, September 7, at 7 pm in the community room of the C.H. Booth Library.
Amy Singer, a licensed clinical social worker who is a therapist with the center, will talk about recognizing the symptoms of depression and how to seek help.
Some signs of depression are poor appetite or overeating, feelings of hopelessness, low energy, sleeping more than usual or insomnia, and poor concentration.
âDepression is one of the most common problems we see in our clients,â said Terry Blackmer, executive director of the Family Counseling Center. âMany seniors and adults suffer from depression, but we also see it in teenagers and even children.â
