Opening Reception For Lee At Thirteen

DANBURY — For the month of September, Thirteen Gallery will be presenting the work of artist Eva Lee. Ms Lee is a Ridgefield-based painter who recently completed the master of fine arts program at Hunter College in New York City.

The gallery will host an opening reception for Ms Lee’s exhibit on Friday, September 8, from 7 to 10 pm. The public is invited to view Ms Lee’s works, the most recent of which is a group of drawings based on the artist’s take on the dominence of science in our culture and its empericism. Light refreshments will be served, and the artist is expected to be in attendance.

“For me,” says Ms Lee, “life and the universe is about the hidden and mysterious envelopment of small things by large things. All around us are embedded worlds within worlds. I render what I imagine to be the hidden truths we might never sense, and therefore, never know.”

Ms Lee’s drawings are executed in watercolor and ink. The works use a strict yet bold palette to render the imperceptable things that exist all around us in a nether reality.

Regular gallery hours are Wednesday through Friday, 6 to 9 pm; Saturday, noon to 4 pm; and by appointment. For further information, Thirteen can be reached by calling 790-6754.
