Scout Troop 70 Returns From Adirondacks

Boys from Newtown Scout Troop 70 recently returned from a week at Camp Russell, in New York. This summer, 39 scouts and six adult leaders attended. The troop has made the annual trek to the camp at the western edge of the Adirondacks for more than 20 years.

Despite eight inches of rainfall while at camp, the boys earned 109 merit badges, and 11 badges of rank.

Achieving Tenderfoot rank were Timothy Boncek, Adam Cameron-Braley, Stephen Graham, and Chas Perry.

Earning Second Class rank were Paul Ashey, Aaron Mendelson, Michael Rambone, and Eddie Small.

Earning First Class rank was Adam Konneker

The following boys received honor for completing a Mile Swim: Dan Agius, Paul Ashey, Ethan Breitling, Adam Cameron-Braley, Andrew Heller, Jeff Heller, Michael Rambone, Alex Snow, and Eddie Wolf.

Special recognition goes to two fathers who also completed the Mile Swim, Chris Graham and Tom Tella.
