Dorothy Gebeau Wargo

Loving Wife, Mother, And Grandmother

Dorothy Gebeau Wargo, 80, beloved daughter of the late Edward and Amanda Gebeau, died August 30 at her home in Southbury. She was born in Bridgeport, April 27, 1928.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 59 years, Paul Wargo; two loving sisters, Rita Walsh and her husband, Harry, of Sandy Hook, and Margaret Nemeth of Monroe; beloved children, Paul of Bridgeport, Linda Haas and her husband, Robert, and Stuart Wargo, all of Southbury; and her six grandchildren, Paul M., Sean, and Jessica Wargo, Robert, Randall, and Russell Haas. She also leaves behind two daughters-in law, Agnes Wargo of Bridgeport and Loralee Begin of Watertown; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs Wargo was predeceased by her son, Stephen Wargo; and brother, Robert Gebeau.

Mrs Wargo graduated from Harding High School in Bridgeport, where she lived with her husband and raised her children until they moved to Southbury in 1978. There she worked for Jordan Marsh before retiring to help care for her grandchildren. She was a devoted homemaker, loving wife, mother, and grandmother. It was her good fortune to have some of her grandchildren visit every week to play canasta and for her, her husband, and her sisters and brother-in-law to get together weekly for pinochle. She also enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles.

A graveside service was held September 3 in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA, Health at Home, 27 Siemon Company Drive, Watertown CT 06795, whose employees touched her warmly.
