Real Food CT’s 5th Annual Fundraiser September 13 At Sticks & Stones Farm
Real Food CT will host its fifth annual community fundraiser, An Evening at the Farm, on Saturday, September 13, at Sticks & Stones Farm. The celebration features food and live music with a shared mission: moving more fresh, locally grown produce to families across southwestern Connecticut.
Last year, Real Food CT (RFCT) delivered roughly 50,000 pounds of produce to hunger-relief partners. This year, RFCT is on pace to approach 125,000 pounds by year’s end, more than double 2024’s impact. Using 1.2 pounds per meal, that is about 104,000 meal equivalents for neighbors in need.
“Our team gleans and rescues produce from 25 regional farms and delivers it to 25+ food pantries from Newtown and Danbury through Bridgeport,” said Sean Fitzpatrick, RFCT’s Executive Director. “Every dollar contributed goes directly to local food access. When you join us on September 13, you are helping turn fresh harvests into healthy meals quickly, locally, and with dignity.”
Guests will enjoy light fare crafted with locally grown ingredients by area favorites: Taco Dia (Newtown), Some Things Fishy Catering (Danbury), House of Yoshida (Bethel), Rosewood Market & Deli (Newtown), Dodgingtown Market + Deli and Hilltop Kitchen (Newtown), and Ferris Acres Creamery (Newtown).
The evening also features a silent auction, a cozy bonfire, and live music from Iris Lies, a premiere cover band known for rich vocal harmonies.
Tickets are $150 each, or a table for ten is available for $1,400, and seating is limited. Tickets and additional information are available at realfoodct.org.
RFCT is a Newtown-based nonprofit that gleans and rescues surplus produce from local farms and coordinates deliveries to food pantries across the region, raising nutrition quality, reducing waste, and strengthening the local food system.
