‘Creepy Crawlies’ Program Planned

DERBY — The Naugatuck Valley Audubon Society, in cooperation with the Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Kellogg Environmental Center, will host “Creepy Crawlies” on Tuesday, September 19, at 7:30 pm, at the Kellogg Environmental Center.

Tricia Lombardi, an educator from Connecticut Audubon Society in Fairfield, will be the presenter. The program will consist of a 50-minute presentation, with Ms Lombardi talking about each critter while bringing them around the room for everyone to see.

There will be a tarantula, a giant millipede, and a Madagascar hissing cockroach among the critters. This program is geared for all ages, especially children.

The Kellogg Environmental Center is at 500 Hawthorne Avenue off Route 34. A donation of $4 per adult and $2 per student for nonmembers of the Naugatuck Valley Audubon Society is requested.

For further information, directions, or to register, call the Kellogg Environmental Center at 734-2513.
