Media Exposure Talk On Tap

At Working Women’s Forum

Does your business have “news value?” Why can’t you get the local or regional press to “cover” your company’s newest offering? What can you do to get more publicity without having to buy a lot of advertising?

These are some questions that will be answered during the Working Women’s Forum’s first meeting for the 2006-2007 year with a talk by journalist, broadcaster, and media consultant John Voket.

Mr Voket is associate editor covering business and health for The Newtown Bee. His other responsibilities include serving as public affairs coordinator, producer, and talk show host for Cox Broadcasting, and a freelance editor for a national magazine along with his private consulting duties.

Following a brief presentation, he will be facilitating a dialog with the intent of helping WWF members and guests get more and better media exposure through local, regional, and even national networks. Mr Voket will also talk about mounting simple PR campaigns on a tight budget, becoming a better corporate neighbor through cause marketing, and discussing how small and large businesses can establish mutually beneficial relationships with the media.

The meeting will be held Monday, September 11, at Sal & Pepe Restaurant, 97 South Main Street. Networking begins at 6 pm, with dinner and the talk at 6:30. Call in reservations to Kelly Urso at 364-1667 or rsvp@workingwomensforum.net.

The cost for dinner will be $25 for members, $35 for nonmembers.
