Joan Clark
Joan Milot Clark of Sandy Hook passed away on Wednesday, September 3, at River Glen Health Care in Southbury.
Joan was born in Bridgeport on April 28, 1936. She was the daughter of Charles and Lillian Milot. Joan spent her childhood growing up in Stratford. She then moved to Sandy Hook and graduated from Newtown High School.
After high school she worked at the Fabric Fire Hose in Sandy Hook until its closing, and then went to work at Pitney Bowes for many years until retiring. She also worked at the Edmond Town Hall Theatre Box Office for over forty years.
Joan was a lifelong Yankees fan. She cherished her fond memories of childhood family trips to Quebec to visit relatives. She also loved spending time with her five grandchildren.
Joan is survived by four children, Deborah Clark, Raymond Clark, Michael Clark of Newtown and William Clark of Florida; and five grandchildren, Jack, Molly, Laura, Emily Clark and Katherine Clark Warner (Matt); and three siblings, two brothers Charles Milot (Pat) of Trumbull, Edward Milot of Danbury and Nancy Duhamel (Peter) of Sandy Hook. Joan is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four siblings, Raymond Milot, Ann Shpunt, Marjorie Check, and Kathleen Ohlott.
A funeral memorial Mass will be held Friday, September 12, at 11 am, at St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road in Newtown. Burial will take place at St Rose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, one of Joan’s favorite charities.
