Hamfest Returning This Weekend

Candlewood Amateur Radio Association will present its annual Western Connecticut Hamfest on Sunday, September 12, from 8:30 am until 12:30 pm. The event will again be in the gymnasium and lower parking lot of Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street.

Admission is $6, free for ages 10 and under.

The Hamfest will include commercial vendors (including but not limited to KJI Electronics, The Parent Shop, Quiksilver Radio, Radio Oasis and Sauder Electronics) and tailgating, ham radio equipment and computer gear, door prizes, and refreshments. This year’s raffle prize is a new Yaesu FT1900R 2m, 55W mobile rig. Raffle tickets remain $5.

Steve Simons (W1SMS) will be presenting a seminar on “Raising Towers Safely.”

While approaching the event or for those who cannot attend, a talk-in will be running on the CARA W1QI Repeater, 147.300(+) PL 100.0.
