John V. Simek, Jr, 87, of Monroe, died September 3, in Bridgeport Hospital. He was born in Goshen.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley, and their two sons, Joseph Simek and his wife, Deborah, of Newtown and John Simek and Donna Louis of Monroe; three sisters; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers and sisters.

He worked at Sikorsky Aircraft in the Hydraulic Line Department.

He had a great passion for cars and motorcycles.

Funeral services were held September 8. Interment was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
