Madeline Mary (Boucher) Hackett, age 88, from Sandy Hook, passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 26, 2025.

She was born February 6, 1937, in Bridgeport, to the late Thomas and Madeline (Schmid) Boucher. Madeline was a 1955 graduate of Lauralton Hall in Milford. She married Milton “Bud” Sherman Hackett on June 22, 1957, in Bridgeport. They lived and raised their four boys in Sandy Hook.

Madeline worked as a local bank manager in Newtown until retirement, after which she and her husband “Bud” enjoyed traveling around the country and abroad, finally settling in North Kingstown, R.I. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: enjoying the R.I. beaches, cooking, watching grandchildren’s sports, and visiting with family and friends.

Madeline was predeceased by her loving husband Milton Hackett, and two sisters, Susan Medve and Josephine Boucher.

She is survived by her brother Thomas Boucher of Denver Colo.; four sons, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Hackett of Southbury, Peter Hackett of Vernon Vt., Gregory (Colleen) Hackett of Little River S.C., and Patrick (Allicyn) Hackett of Tiverton R.I.; four grandchildren, Kelly (Michael) Glenn, Ryan (Rachel) Hackett, Sean Hackett, and Matthew Hackett; three great-grandchildren, Carly Glenn, Mason Hackett and Johnny Glenn; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be private with immediate family only.
