To The Editor:

I am writing to share that I will be running for Town Clerk for the Town of Newtown in our November 4th election. After working in the office for almost 20 years and living in Newtown for 25, I am excited to be embarking on this journey. I moved to Newtown in 2000 where we raised our two children, Mitchell and Victoria.

Once both kids were in school full time, I started with the Town Clerk’s office in 2007. I’ve had the privilege of assisting thousands of residents and building strong, lasting relationships within our town. My time in this role has given me a deep understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities, challenges, and opportunities that come with serving as Town Clerk.

Having served in this office for nearly 20 years, I’ve developed the ability to anticipate and efficiently assist patrons with a wide range of needs. I am committed to making thoughtful, independent decisions that positively impact everyone who comes through our doors. Many of the inquiries we handle require both confidentiality and compassion, and I approach each situation with the care and discretion it deserves.

Strong listening skills, sound judgment, and efficiency are essential qualities for anyone seeking public office. A successful public servant must be able to truly hear and understand the concerns of their constituents, ensuring that every voice is considered in the decision-making process. Good judgment allows leaders to weigh complex issues carefully and make informed, balanced choices that serve the long-term interests of the community. Efficiency ensures that time, resources, and taxpayer dollars are used wisely, enabling progress without unnecessary delays or waste. Together, these qualities form the foundation of effective, responsible leadership and are critical for building public trust and achieving meaningful results.

In our ever-changing world, it’s essential that our industry, organization, and town adapt — and the Office of the Town Clerk is no exception. As Town Clerk, I am committed to providing our community and residents with easy access to our services while maintaining the highest level of efficiency. My years of experience have given me insight into what works well and where improvements can be made to better serve the public.

We have a significant opportunity to enhance the Town Clerk’s office. I am dedicated to continuously improving our town website to ensure access to services and information for all those who access it. I also believe in fostering greater community engagement and encouraging feedback so that we can grow stronger together.

As we look ahead to the November 4th election, I hope to earn your support and the opportunity to continue serving this incredible community in a new capacity. I am deeply committed to the role of Town Clerk and to the residents of Newtown. With your trust, I will bring experience, dedication, and a forward-thinking approach to ensure our office remains efficient, accessible, and responsive to your needs.
