Touched Many

Alfreda (Silkman) Behari of Danbury, wife of the late William Behari, died at her home, September 4. She was born in Danbury, March 14, 1920, daughter of Alfred and Jennie (Bates) Silkman.

 She will be sadly missed by her seven children, Robert and his fiancée, Marge Hager, of Sandy Hook, Barbara Urban and her husband, Stanley, of Newtown, William, Jr and his wife, Hazel, of North Carolina, Jean Heron and her husband, Daniel, of Danbury, Joseph and his wife, Marie, of New York, Alfred and his wife, Pebbles, of Bethel, and John and his wife, Maryann, of Danbury; her 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Carolyn Wixted, Mary Hyatt, Jane Lickert, and Ruth Williams, all of Florida; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Cappellaro.

Mrs Behari was a devoted homemaker who created a loving home for her family. Her loving nature extended beyond her family through her volunteer work with Danbury Children’s Services.

Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church of Danbury September 8. Burial of cremains will take place in Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel, at a later date.
