Annual Dog Show Returning
To Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden
BETHLEHEM â Connecticut Landmarksâ Bellamy-Ferriday House & Garden will present the 7th Annual Dog Show on Saturday, September 20, from 1 to 4 pm.
Celebrating dogs of all shapes, sizes and colors, prizes will be awarded for a variety of categories with every dog becoming a winner. Dogs must be registered in advance, up-to-date on their shots, and be on a leash. Stray spectators are also welcome.
The cost is $6 per dog (one owner free), $6 for persons without a dog, and $2 for children. Dog registration is requested; call 203-266-7596.
Certificates and prizes will be awarded by a panel of judges, including veterinarian Brad Davis of Davis Companion Hospital in Woodbury. Each registered dog will receive a prize for a special attribute â from the shortest tail and longest ears, to the best kisser and the friendliest.
Activities will include demonstrations by dog trainer Jack Crann, of Peace of Mind Canine in Bethlehem, and by the State Police Canine Unit. Greyhound and boxer rescue groups will be represented, as will Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Hemlock Kennels of Bethlehem, the Queenie Foundation, a humane education organization for the protection of animals, and Paws for Treats.
Dogs will be challenged by this yearâs obstacle course and will participate in the awards parade.
