Carl H. Hamann

US Navy Veteran

Carl H. Hamann, 75, of Newtown, died September 7 in St Vincent’s Medical Center Bridgeport. Mr Hamann was born in Bridgeport and was a lifelong area resident.

 He was retired from the Ciba Geigy Chemical Company. Mr Hamann was a US Navy veteran serving as a submariner. He was a former volunteer driver for the Easton EMS.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Clark Hamann of Monroe; his devoted daughter, Holly Latka and her husband, Ron, of Oxford; and two loving grandchildren, Zachary and Hannah Latka. He was predeceased by a son, Mark Hamann; and a brother, Richard Hamann.

Calling hours were scheduled for Thursday, September 11, at The Larson Funeral Home, 2496 North Avenue, Bridgeport, from 4 to 7 pm. All other services will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 7 Millbrook Road, Wilton NH 03096.
