Political And Life Experience
Political And Life Experience
To the Editor:
You and I have an important decision to make this fall in whom we send to Hartford as our State Representative for Newtownâs 106th District. Based on experience, independence, and character, Iâll be voting for Will Rodgers. Will has served as a Newtown volunteer for more than ten years. And he has been chosen to be the bipartisan leader of our Legislative Council for three terms, even after offering the seat to his Democratic colleagues.
In addition to political experience, Will Rodgers has the life experience we need in Hartford during these challenging times. He worked his way through college and law school, raised a terrific daughter and has been a good father and husband. He runs his own business here in town and serves in the Untied States Marine Reserves as a full colonel, the rank just below general.
This year our nation awarded Will the Bronze Star for exceptional performance in a war zone. This award was for his leadership in a combat zone in the area between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers known as the Fertile Crescent and the heart of ancient Mesopotamia. His leadership enabled the United States Agency for International Development to establish critically important humanitarian and agricultural programs important to a sustainable Iraq.
Will Rogers humbly refers to all of this as âservice in the military.â
Please consider joining me in voting for our bipartisan and best qualified candidate for state representative.
Thank you.
George Ferguson
